According to the church calendar and the activity level of the congregation, Hoover First is busy and getting busier. There’s no after Easter lull around here! Our busyness is, I believe, a sign of God at work. We are busying ourselves at the task of kingdom building.

Kingdom-building busyness is healthy and uplifting, involving us in tasks that are meaningful. We aren’t hurried and harried, but engaged and excited. When we are busy building God’s kingdom we have answered His call to ministry.

All Christians have a call to ministry. (Actually, we have many calls. The call changes as our lives do.) Every Christian has God-given tasks to do in the church’s kingdom building work. As the opportunities for service through the ministries of Hoover First grow, I invite each of you to spend some time in prayer and reflection regarding God’s call on our life. How are you to be busy building the kingdom?
